Pennisetum orientale
Pennisetum orientale forms a graceful mound of green foliage. In late spring, an abundance of white bottlebrush seed heads appear slightly above the foliage and persist until fall. If space is limited, plant a specimen; however, create a massed planting for full effect and for an undulating sea of waving plumes.
Drought tolerant once established Long-lasting, soft, white plumes with hints of pink. Size suits small or large landscapes form, attractive borders excellent in masses and sweeps; superb when backlit by the sun profuse blooms easy to maintain—cut back in spring before new growth.
